Antique Union No. 5 transitional bench plane with the UNION mark cast into the lever cap and No. 5 stamped on the toe. This is a wood-and-metal transitional hand plane from the early 1900s to 1920s era, the kind made for general stock removal and flattening.
Condition is fair and best described as a restoration project, parts plane, or display piece. The metal has heavy surface rust and oxidation across the sides, lever cap, toe, and hardware. The rear wood tote has heavy wear with chipping/loss at the top, scratches, and age darkening. The wooden body/sole shows grime, age, and wear, and I can't verify flatness or the mouth condition from the photos. The cutting iron appears to be missing or recessed/unclear, so usability is unknown. Overall it looks incomplete or at least untested.
